From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the powerful family could assist the party access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
